4H offers program in expressive arts Bergen County 4-H will host a new expressive arts workshop at Midland Park Library, 250 Godwin Avenue. The program is open to all students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The free club will be held the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The first meeting will be April 11. Watoto Children’s Choir to perform Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda will present its “Concert of Hope” at Faith
Reformed Church, 95 Prospect Street in Midland Park, on Tuesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. Watoto Children’s Choirs have toured throughout the world, spreading a message of hope for Africa’s orphaned and vulnerable children. The choir presents Watoto’s vision and mission through music and dance, with an energetic fusion of contemporary gospel and traditional African rhythms. Concerts of Hope demonstrate the life-changing love of God experienced by the children of Watoto. The choir is on a mission to raise the next generation of Ugandan leaders to become responsible and productive citizens. Watoto is currently caring for 2,000 parentless children. Through music and dance, these children share Watoto’s vision: Rescue a Child, Raise a Leader, Rebuild a Nation. A free-will offering will be taken. Tax filing assistance offered to senior citizens The Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Citizens Center in Midland Park is offering free assistance to seniors, age 60 and over, in filing their tax returns. AARP volunteer tax advisors will be available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through April 13. Tax advisors will only do simple returns. All taxes will be filed electronically. Fashion Show/ luncheon tickets on sale The Midland Park Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary will hold its 42nd Annual
Luncheon/Fashion Show/Special Auction on Tuesday, April 12. The popular event will take place at the Grand Conservatory of the Brownstone House in Paterson beginning at 11:30 a.m. Fashions by Kurth Cottage Gift Shop will be modeled by auxiliary members. The event is always a sell-out, so early reservations are recommended. Tickets are $35, $7 of which is tax deductible.
