The elderly, especially those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, often find that art therapy is a great tool for expression. Toastmasters now welcoming new members The members of Park Toastmasters invite Bergen County residents to the group’s Friday, April 8 meeting. The session will be held at 7:15 p.m. at the Panera Bread Restaurant, 1300 State Route 17 North in Ramsey. There is no charge to attend. Park Toastmasters is the local chapter of Toastmasters International, the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to helping people improve their communication and leadership skills. Cynthia England, internationally known quilting instructor and quilt pattern designer, will be the featured speaker. “Why Did I Buy This Ugly Fabric?” will be presented at both sessions. England is noted for her picture pieced quilts. She has been recognized for her many special quilts. “Piece and Quiet” was chosen as one of the “Twentieth Century’s Best American Quilts” in 2000. She has won many prestigious awards at international quilt shows. There is a $5 guest fee for non-members. The guild has a few membership openings.
