Art professor to speak Gallery artist and educator Judith Peck, Ed.D. will discuss her book “Smart Starts in the Arts: Fostering Intelligence, Creativity, and Serenity in the Early Years” at the Fieldstone Fine Art Gallery on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Peck, an accomplished sculptor and published author, is a professor of art at Ramapo College. The gallery, located at 147 East Main Street in Ramsey, is open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Peck will present her lecture at 7 p.m. followed by a book signing. Space is limited. Interested residents and current members are encouraged to attend. The agenda will include new initiatives and upcoming fall and winter events, including the Coats and Comforter Drive, the Thanksgiving Food Collection and Distribution, and the Adopt-A-Family Holiday Gift Project. Ramsey Responds is actively seeking new members to assist with these and other projects and to help expand the programs and services it is able to offer. Bereavement Support Group offered Saint Paul’s Church in Ramsey will hold an eight-week fall support group session beginning Thursday, Oct 7. Compassionate facilitators who have experience with personal loss will be available to assist others with coping and understanding the grieving process. Rummage Sale set The Social Concerns Committee of Saint Paul R.C. Church will hold its Annual Rummage Sale on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at the school located at 193 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. Quality items will be for sale, including furniture, antiques, fine china and crystal, jewelry, house wares, gift items, and children’s large play equipment. Proceeds will benefit the inner city scholarship program for children from nearby cities. Girl Scouts schedule sale The Ramsey Girl Scouts will hold a Garage Sale on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ramsey Municipal Pool. (Rain date: Oct. 3.) Vendor spaces are available for $25 for two parking spaces, or $40 for three spaces. Vendors keep all proceeds from their sales. The fee supports Ramsey Girl Scouts. Ramsey Review Ramsey Seniors host events, seek volunteers The Ramsey Seniors’ Oktoberfest luncheon will be held Friday, Oct. 8 at noon at the senior center in Finch Park.
