(Rain date: Oct. 3.) Vendor spaces are available for $25 for two parking spaces, or $40 for three spaces. Vendors keep all proceeds from their sales. The fee supports Ramsey Girl Scouts. Celebration of Irish music and dance set The Ramsey Fine Arts Council will present an evening of Irish music and dance at Adorno Fathers, 575 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey on Friday, Oct. 8. The evening will begin with a performance of the McLoughlin School of Irish Dance’s Allendale Branch, followed by the traditional Irish Ceili Band Clann agus Cairde. Brady’s at the Station will cater a buffet dinner that will include corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, and bangers and mash. A cash bar will be available. West Bergen offers workshops On Wednesday, Sept. 22, West Bergen Mental Healthcare will offer Therapeutic Social Skills for Individuals with Asperger’s and Related Disorders. Learn about the nature and complexity of social skills, various techniques and tools, how to target social skill development within the natural environment, and how to implement therapeutic social skills groups for children through adolescents. Jennifer Kunert, LPC and Katherine Kandravy, LCSW will present this workshop from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at West Bergen’s Center for Children and Youth at One Cherry Lane, Ramsey. The cost is $25. Hours will be 6 to 7 p.m. at the One Cherry Lane location in Ramsey. This program is for siblings of children with Asperger’s Disorder, HFA, PDD, NOS, and nonverbal learning disabilities. This workshop will cover tolerance, coping strategies, focusing on your sibling’s strengths, disclosure, fairness, creating quality time, and finding common ground. Toastmasters offer employment advice The Park Toastmasters invites all area residents its next meeting on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7:15 p.m. in the Panera Bread Restaurant, 1300 State Route 17 (north bound) in Ramsey. Attendees to this special meeting will hear members of Park Toastmasters give prepared and impromptu speeches that will provide them with valuable information about how to secure employment and to stay employed during this current challenging job market. Park Toastmasters is a local chapter of Toastmasters International, the world’s largest non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping people improve their communication and leadership skills. Pancake Breakfast for RHS Band and Guard set The Ramsey High School Band and Color Guard will hold a pancake fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Chili’s on Route 17 in Ramsey. The morning fundraiser will offer pancakes, bacon, coffee, juice, and milk for $5 per person. The community is invited to attend. Reservations may be made by contacting Kim Floyd at (201)818-0854. Tickets will be available at the door for $7 each. All proceeds support the RHS Band and Guard activities, including the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Winter Percussion, and Velocity Guard. Annual Jack McKeown Run set The 33rd Annual Jack McKeown Memorial Ramsey Run will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Ramsey Municipal Pool on East Oak Street. The 10K will start at 8 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 9:45 a.m. Trophies will be awarded for the first three finishers in a variety of age categories. In addition to the 10K and 5K races, this year there will be a 1.2 mile walk immediately following the awarding of the 5K trophies. This walk is part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign The pre-registration fee is $20, and will rise to $25 on the day of the race. T-shirts will be given to the first 300 participants. All pre-race entries must be received by Thursday, Sept. 23.
