Celebrate WALDWICK DAY September 25
The photography of Mahwah resident John Cudworth is now on display at the Waldwick Public Library. The exhibit will remain open through Saturday, Oct. 30. Taken on travels through the northeastern states, Colorado, and Wales, the 20 spectacular photographs showcase Cudworth’s interest in nature and cityscapes. Subjects featured in the exhibit include four sunsets; a pastoral mountain scene in central Wales; the “Little Red Lighthouse” in Manhattan; fog lifting from the Appalachian Trail in Monroe, New York; and a snowy egret perched on a board at the Celery Farm in Allendale. Cudworth’s interest in photography began in high school in the Hartford, Connecticut area when he started taking photographs of astronomical subjects through a telescope. An avid reader of Sky and Telescope Magazine in the 1970s, Cudworth wanted to share images of the moon and planets that he had seen through his six-inch Dynascope

(Newtonian reflector) telescope. Over time, his interest in photography has expanded to include a broad range of subject matter as represented in this exhibit. He has won photography awards from the West Hartford Art League and the Simsbury, Connecticut Camera Club and has exhibited his work in public libraries in Connecticut and New Jersey. Cudworth currently has an online exhibit at http://www.flickr.com/photos/johninmahwah and maintains a short blog at http://photolandscapeviewjohnc.blogspot.com. The Waldwick Library is located at 19 East Prospect Street in Waldwick. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 to 9, and Friday and Saturday from 10 to 5.
