Mardi Gras Masquerade Gala set Project195, Inc., an eco-humanitarian, non-profit organization based in Oakland, will hold a Mardi Gras Masquerade Gala Oct. 2 in the Fellowship Hall of The Community Church of Glen Rock, 354 Rock Road, Glen Rock. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and will include authentic Creole cuisine, surprise entertainment, dancing, a special auction, a cash prize, and an open bar. All proceeds will fund Project195’s ongoing mission in the New Orleans area to aid in the restoration of the wetlands and Bayou area that has been damaged by hurricane Katrina and by the recent oil spill. RBARI plans sale, Mutts Marathon The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. will hold a Gift & Craft Sale at the Copper Tree Mall, 350 Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) in Oakland on Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sale will include a wide range of beautiful gifts, some of which are animal-related. All proceeds directly benefit the animals at RBARI. On Sunday, Sept. 26, bring the dog to Shepherd Lake, Ringwood and join RBARI for a fun-filled day at the Sixth Annual Mutts Marathon.
