Brandes presents job workshop Join Barbara Brandes for her Sept. 27 workshop, “Job Search in the Age of the Internet: What Do Employers Want?” The program will be held at 7 p.m. at the Mahwah Public Library, 100 Ridge Road, Mahwah. Unemployment is reaching a rate not seen for over a decade. Jobs are out there, but there are many more applicants for each job. Church offers support for bereaved As Thanksgiving approaches, those who are grieving the loss of a loved one may face the holiday with intense and confusing emotions. All those who are grieving a loss are invited to participate in a sevenweek Bereavement Support Group starting Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m., at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 900 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah. Participants are asked to attend as many meetings as possible during the seven-week period. Register by calling (201) 327-1276. Chamber sets Networking Breakfast The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold a networking breakfast on Sept. 16 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Mason Jar, 219 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah. Participants will have the opportunity to
meet area business owners and professionals as they enjoy a cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast. New members will offer a brief introduction to their businesses, and information about upcoming Chamber events will be presented. The cost is $25 Chamber members; $40 for non-members. Prepaid registration is required to guarantee participation; an additional $5 processing fee will be charged the day of event. Network at the Mahwah Museum The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold a business card exchange on Wednesday, Sept. 22 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mahwah Museum, 201 Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah. This evening of networking and refreshments is being hosted by the Mahwah Museum Society. Attendees will view the exhibit, “The First Class at Mahwah High.” The exhibit chronicles the creation of Mahwah High School in the late 1950s and the oral histories and recollections of the school’s early graduates. Students from Mahwah attended Ramsey High School until 1959. The first class graduated from Mahwah High in 1960. The cost is $15 for Chamber members
The 15th Annual John Carty Golf Outing was held recently at the Darlington Golf Course in Mahwah. This fundraiser supports scholarships for graduating Mahwah High School student athletes. Pasta Night planned The Ramapo Reformed Church at 100 Island Road in Mahwah will hold a Pasta Night on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. between the Mahwah Day afternoon festivities and the fireworks. The church is within walking distance of Commodore Perry Field. Dinner includes pasta marinara, meatballs, bread and butter, beverage, and dessert. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children under age 12. A family ticket for

Pack 258 welcomes new members Cub Scout Pack 258 of Mahwah will be signing up new members on Sept. 24 between 6 and 8 p.m. at Joyce Kilmer School’s all-purpose room. Sign-up will be from 6 to 7. A question and answer session will follow. Refreshments will be served. All boys in grades one through five are welcome to join. New recruits are invited, but not obligated, to participate in the first pack meeting of the year, which features a physical fitness test.
