Sherlock Holmes play staged
The Mahwah Public Library will present the staged radio play, “The Final Problem,” by Arthur Conan Doyle on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. This theatrical adaption by Alex Dawson with Carlyle Owens, Jeff Maschi, and Laurence Mintz, is a loyal adaptation of Holmes’ most famous dustup. The story culminates with a fateful square off at “a dreadful cauldron of swirling water and seething foam” known as Reichenbach Falls. Although Moriarty appeared in only one of the 60 Doyle adventures, popular impression crowned him Holmes’ arch nemesis. This program is free. No tickets are necessary. Seats are on a “first come” basis. Mahwah Public Library is located at 100 Ridge Road. Phone (201) 529-READ.
