Page 4 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • October 27, 2010 Ramsey The members of the Ramsey Police DARE Program encourage the community to support the annual Ramsey Parents Against Drugs Ziti Dinner fundraiser, which will be held Nov. 20 at Saint Paul’s School cafeteria, 187 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. Hours will be 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner will feature all-you-can-eat salad, ziti, meatballs, bread, beverages, and unlimited desserts. DARE officers invite community to ziti fundraiser This event is the primary fundraiser for Ramsey’s antidrug and wellness efforts. Each year, more than 1,600 of Ramsey’s school children receive anti-drug and wellness training. In addition, a dozen community events will be organized this year, in an effort to integrate the students, teachers, parents, business people, politicians, organizations, and police officers. Neither Ramsey DARE nor the RPAD engage in phone or mail solicitation. The dinner is the main fundraiser, and 100 percent of diners’ contributions go directly to benefiting the Ramsey Parents Against Drugs organization. The market has many special surprises and activities for Halloween. Music will provided by Lou Gallo. Lorraine Castellano will host the children’s activity. The market, which features vendors with fresh produce and other products, will also offer maple syrup, honey, cider, teas, and coffees. Edge of Knife will be return on Oct. 31 to sharpen dulled kitchen knives just in time for holiday carving. The Ramsey Farmers Market is sponsored by the Ramsey Historical Association and is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Street train station. During Fire Prevention Week, the Ramsey Fire Department paid a visit to Mrs. Finnegan’s kindergarten class at Hubbard School. The students enjoyed the special safety lesson.
