Page 8 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • October 20, 2010 Ramsey Review Leisure Club welcomes new members The Leisure Club, which is open to Ramsey residents who are at least 55 years of age, meets at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Wyckoff Avenue on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meetings often include guest speakers and time to discuss topics that are relevant to seniors. The club’s day trips and overnight trips often include non-members. Annual membership dues are $12. This year’s officers are: Diane Beggio, president; Rosemarie Gostissa, vice president; Marion Peer, secretary; Pauline Crescenzo, treasurer; and Connie Galasso, travel coordinator. On Oct. 28, the club will take a bus trip to historic Smithville Inn for a buffet lunch and shopping spree to over 40 unique shops. At 2 p.m., the group will depart for the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Attendees will receive $30 in slot coupons. The cost of the trip is $36. UNICO sets Charity di Vino The Greater Ramsey Chapter of UNICO National will host its annual Charity di Vino Wine Tasting on Thursday, Nov. 11, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah. This year’s event will feature over 65 wines, Belgian beers, domestic and imported cheeses, pasta and bruschetta stations, Italian pastries, and cakes from Hoboken’s own “Cake Boss.” Guests will include “Cooking with Nonna” online celebrity chef sensation Rossella Rago, and CBS News food expert Tony Tantillo, who will offer samples of Tantillo’s imported olive oils. All proceeds from this event will benefit Hearts & Crafts Counseling: Grief Counseling for Children and Adults and the Greater Ramsey UNICO Chapter to support its charitable works. Parent workshops offered Asperger’s Related Services is offering two new workshops for fall for parents with children Asperger’s/HFA/ PDD, NOS spectrum. Both workshops will be held at the West Bergen Center for Children and Youth at One Cherry Lane in Ramsey. The cost is $25 per workshop. The Oct. 26 program, which will be presented by Jeanne Marron, Ph.D. and Jennifer Kunert, LPC, will offer information about preparing children for holiday events, vacations, and celebrations. Workshop hours are 12:30 to 2 p.m. On Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Jennifer Kunert, LPC and Katherine Kandravy, LCSW, will offer an interactive workshop focusing on the joys and stress of living with a child with Asperger’s Syndrome and related disorders. The program will focus on topics related to emotional regulation, handling changes in routines, parenting concerns through the child’s lifespan, sibling issues, advocacy, and parental support systems. Fashion Show fundraiser set The Mother’s Guild at Don Bosco Prep will host its annual Fashion Show on Nov. 4 at the Rockleigh Country Club, 26 Paris Avenue, Rockleigh. Lord & Taylor will showcase its fashion collections, and students will take their turn on the runway modeling formal attire. In addition to the show, the event will include cocktails, prizes, an auction, and dinner. Come in costume and join the PBA for some Halloween treats. This event will include face painting and Halloween bags for children.
