The cost is $8 for an all-you-caneat meal. Sign up at borough hall beginning on Monday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. The seniors have planned the annual Christmas Party at the Ramsey Country Club for Dec. 7 at noon. Seniors who are over age 60 are invited to become part of the planning for events by attending the next meeting of the Ramsey Seniors Committee on Thursday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. The committee meets the third Thursday of every month at the senior center at 4 p.m. For information and a monthly calendar of events, stop at the senior center or call (201) 825-3400. Leisure Club plans Smithville/Atlantic City trip The Leisure Club is hosting an Oct. 28 bus trip to historic Smithville Inn for a buffet lunch and shopping spree to over 40 unique shops. At 2 p.m., the group will depart for the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Attendees will receive $30 in slot coupons. The cost of the trip is $36. Hoagie Sale underway Members of the Ramsey High School Big Blue Marching Band and Color Guard will be ringing Ramsey residents’ doorbells for its Annual Fall Hoagie Sale. Proceeds from this sale help the band and guard travel to competitions where they promote Ramsey as one of the finest high school bands in the tri-state area. Students will be taking orders through Oct. 17. The sandwiches will be delivered on Saturday, Oct. 23. Donations are welcome. Gallery plans autumn exhibit The Fieldstone Fine Art Gallery will unveil a new exhibit, “Celebrating Autumn,” by gallery artists at an opening reception on Oct. 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Artist of the Month Marlene Wiedenbaum will discuss “The Art of Pastel Painting.” This event is open to the public. The exhibit will be open through Nov. 18. Stapleton to address Garden Club Celeste Stapleton will discuss hydrangeas and tips for pruning trees and shrubs at the Oct. 12 meeting of the Ramsey Area Garden Club. The meeting will begin at 6:45 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 55 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. Stapleton has studied design at the Bronx Botanical Gardens School of Horticulture and medical herbalism. The public is invited to the first portion of the meeting, which features the speaker. The group’s next meeting will be Oct. 14 at the ambulance corps building in Ramsey at 7:30 p.m. On Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the juniors will be the non-profit guest of the Farmers Market in Ramsey. Attendees are invited to join in the pumpkin painting activity. Also in October, the club will host the Annual Pink Lemonade Sale at Shop Rite, a benefit for breast cancer awareness. Farmers Market sets October events The Ramsey Farmers Market, featuring vendors with fresh produce and other products, will also offer maple syrup, honey, cider, teas, and coffees during the month of October. Wellness Day, Oct. 17, will feature several area practices with information on nutrition, exercise, and general well-being. Music will be provided by Larissa Jaye, and the children’s activity will be with Lorraine Castellano. On Oct. 24, children are invited to participate in pumpkin painting sponsored by the Junior Woman’s Club. Cynthia Summers will provide the music. Many special surprises and activities are planned for Halloween (Oct. 31), the last market of the season. Music will provided by Lou Gallo. Lorraine Castellano will host the children’s activity. The Ramsey Farmers Market is sponsored by the Ramsey Historical Association and is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Street train station through the end of October. Woman’s Club sets events The Woman’s Club of Ramsey will host an evening of Military Bridge on Oct. 30 at the Masonic Lodge on the corner of Franklin Turnpike and Lake Street in Ramsey. Halloween Family Pumpkin Hunt planned Ramsey PBA Local #155 will host a Halloween Family Pumpkin Hunt on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul School, 187 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. Come in costume and join the PBA for some Halloween treats. This event will include face painting and Halloween bags for children. Library hosts Teen Read Week The Ramsey Public Library will celebrate “Books with Beat,” for Teen Read Week, Oct. 17 through 23. Teens are invited to enter contests that will be held during the week.
