eghan Burbank has come full circle in her career goals as an engineer since joining LAN Associates, EPAS, Inc. two years ago. Interested in the environment since she was in grade school, she now holds LEED accreditation through the U.S. Green Building Council and is pursuing state certification in wetlands delineation. Likewise, she loved teaching and interacting with students as a teacher’s assistant while in college, and now she is mentoring high school students through the ACE (Architects, Construction, Engineering) Mentor Program. “I have been given every Meghan Burbank opportunity to pursue the things I have always wanted to accomplish, aspects of my life and career that I am passionate about,” she said of LAN. “It’s a great company. They want you to be the best you can be. Everyone is supportive.” After receiving her BS degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Central Florida, she worked for 10 years as a solid waste engineer. A civil engineer at LAN, she appreciates the camaraderie in a mid-size company and the opportunity to have an active role in a variety of projects. She feels at home both in the office and out in the field, and seeing the designs completed on paper come to life. At LAN, she performs site development and facility design for residential, school, athletic field, industrial, and commercial clients, including the storm water drainage analysis and environmental permitting necessary for these projects. She also performs cost analysis and quality control/construction administration for various projects. The firm’s engineering department offers a wide range of engineering services, including engineering feasibility analysis, zoning analysis, site engineering, soil movement calculations, utility engineering, septic design, retaining wall design, trail improvements, natural and artificial turf field designs, and environmental permitting including storm water pollution prevention plans, wetlands and stream encroachment studies. Based in Midland Park, LAN is celebrating 45 years of design and project excellence this year. It is one of the largest full-service engineering and architectural firms in northern NJ serving clients throughout the United States and Canada. Let Kristin Dahl streamline your wardrobe
and show you how to make the most of your storage space and your wardrobe? Kristin Dahl of Midland Park has made a name for herself doing just that for men as well as for women. Kristin’s runs a successful home-based business (Kristin-dahl.com) organizing clients’ closets and providing personal shopping services. Formerly a fashion merchandiser and industry representative for designers like Laundry by Shelli Segal, Jenne Maag Kristen Dahl and Magaschoni, Kristin is now using her experience and fashion savvy to aid individual, local clients. Kristin finds that many women need to assemble a core wardrobe and build from there. She believes every woman needs a great pair of jeans, a blazer, khakis, great T-shirts, shoes, and handbags – all of which she considers building blocks. Kristin cautions against over-buying or simply purchasing an outfit that is displayed on a mannequin but cannot be used with any other pieces of clothing to create new looks. Cleaning closets may seem like a chore for some, but Kristin enjoys this aspect of her business. Once the best items have been identified, Kristin organizes the pieces that are staying by color and season and gives away the rest. She finds that her ability to identify with the lifestyles and needs of her clients makes it easy for clients to open up their minds -- and their closets -- to her. Trunk shows are another exciting aspect of Kristin’s business. Women who host her travelling collection in their homes receive free clothing, and their friends get to preview the latest fashions at great prices. Contact Kristin today at 201-444-6244 or visit www.kristin-dahl.com. Be sure to ask about her gift certificates, which are a subtle way to get the men and women you love organized or dressed to perfection or to take the burden off someone too busy to shop.
