Woman’s Club sets events The Woman’s Club of Ramsey will hold a Fall Open House for prospective members on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. This event will be held at a member’s home. The Woman’s Club will host an evening of Military Bridge on Oct. 30 at the Masonic Lodge on the corner of Franklin Turnpike and Lake Street in Ramsey. Seniors host events, seek volunteers The Ramsey Seniors’ Oktoberfest luncheon will be held Friday, Oct. 8 at noon at the senior center in Finch Park. The cost of the luncheon is $8 and includes an authentic German menu catered by Morano’s of Ramsey. Karaoke entertainment will be provided by Bob Reffelt. Sign up at borough hall. Upcoming events include a luncheon at the Grand Buffet on Nov. 18, and the annual Christmas Party at the Ramsey Country Club to be held Dec. 7 at noon. Save the dates. Interested seniors who are over age 60 are invited to become part of the planning for events. Attend the next meeting of the Ramsey Seniors Committee on Thursday, Oct. 21. Bereavement Support Group offered Saint Paul’sChurch in Ramsey will hold an eight-week fall support group session beginning Thursday, Oct 7. Compassionate facilitators who have experience with personal loss will be available to assist others with coping and understanding the grieving process. Celebration of Irish music and dance set The Ramsey Fine Arts Council will present an evening of Irish music and dance at Adorno Fathers, 575 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey on Friday, Oct. 8. The evening will begin with a performance of the McLoughlin School of Irish Dance’s Allendale Branch, followed by the traditional Irish Ceili Band Clann agus Cairde. Brady’s at the Station will cater a buffet dinner that will include corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, and bangers and mash. A cash bar will be available. The group’s next meeting will be Oct. 14 at the ambulance corps building in Ramsey at 7:30 p.m. On Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the juniors will be the non-profit guest of the Farmers Market in Ramsey. Attendees are invited to join in the pumpkin painting activity. Also in October, the club will host the Annual Pink Lemonade Sale at Shop Rite, a benefit for breast cancer awareness. Adult school accepting registrations The Ramsey Adult School has begun accepting registrations for its fall semester. The school offers a wide variety of courses taught by experienced, qualified instructors. In addition to an offering of over 350 online courses, there are also many specialty career certificate programs available. Stepleton to address Garden Club Celeste Stapleton will discuss hydrangeas and tips for pruning trees and shrubs at the Oct. 12 meeting of the Ramsey Area Garden Club. Pancake Breakfast, Open House set In conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week, the Ramsey Fire Department will host a Pancake Breakfast and Open House at the Island Avenue Fire Headquarters on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 7 to 11 a.m. A donation of $5 per person or $15 for a family of three or more would be appreciated. Halloween Family Pumpkin Hunt planned Ramsey PBA Local #155 will host a Halloween Family Pumpkin Hunt on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul School, 187 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. Come in costume and join the PBA for some Halloween treats. This event will include face painting and Halloween bags for children.
