Basketball association sets fundraiser
The Midland Park Basketball Association is sponsoring a restaurant fundraiser at Rosario’s Trattoria, 29 Central Avenue in Midland Park, on Tuesday, Nov. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Present this ad and Rosario’s will donate 20 percent of the dine-in, or takeout bill to the Midland Park Basketball Association. Association to meet The Midland Park Baseball Association will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Midland Park Public Library. DAR highlights Molly Pitcher The Daughters of the American Revolution will present the program “Over
Here, Molly Pitcher,” an educational performance by first-person interpreter Stacy Roth, on Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Midland Park Library. The public is invited to this free event. In her dramatic presentation, Roth will highlight the lives of women who “belonged to the army” during the American Revolution. Take a glimpse into what it was like to be a camp follower in the days when American independence was a dream, rather than a certainty. The program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Salon seeks donations for Star of Hope food pantry Family Hair Care is collecting non perishable food for the food pantry at the Star of Hope Ministry in Paterson. Donations may be dropped off during regular business hours at the salon at 222 Godwin Avenue in Midland Park. Club opens model train display The Bergen County Model Railroad Club’s annual operating train display will be open for viewing at the Midland Park United Methodist Church, 269 Godwin Avenue, on Saturdays, Nov. 20 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sundays, Nov. 21 and 28 from 1 to 5 p.m.; and Friday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The donation is $5 for adults and $2 for children age three and up. Children under age two will be admitted free. Lunch will be available. Holiday Boutique set The Community Thrift Shop, located on the lower level of the Midland Park Shopping Center, will start its Holiday Boutique on Nov. 17. After Dec. 1, the shop will receive holiday items only. Regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Receiving only is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays. The first Saturday of each month is for receiving and shopping. Fifty-two organizations benefit from the shop’s sales, including are churches of all denominations and other businesses. MPHS Class of 1970 plans reunion The Midland Park High School Class of 1970 is holding its 40th Class Reunion on Saturday, Nov. 27 at the Hotel Westminster in Livingston. Recycling center sets hours The Midland Park Recycling Center on Greenwood Avenue is open on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m. through March, Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The center is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The schedule is prominently displayed at the center and is available on the borough’s website.
