Ramsey November 10, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 3 Tyburczy elected to unexpired term on council Ramsey’s registered voters have elected Kenneth Tyburczy to the council seat held by Andrew Siemsen until Siemsen’s decision to step down this summer. The Ramsey Council named Tyburczy, a Republican, to the borough’s governing body in August. Last week, he received 2,707 ballots to earn Siemsen’s one-year unexpired term and rebuff the challenge mounted by Independent candidate Brian Behrmann. Behrmann earned 1,305 ballots. Tyburczy is a certified project management and information technology professional who owns and operates a cooperative direct mail advertising concern. He has worked as a consultant, as an accountant and auditor for KPMG, and in IT for almost 10 years in various administrative and management roles. The councilman received his master’s degree in information systems from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and marketing with a minor in economics from Saint Peter’s College, where he was an honors graduate. He also received his diploma with honors in computer technical support from The Chubb Institute in Parsippany. He is involved with the Knights of Columbus, Rev. Patrick Pindar Council #3962, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Rev. Solanus Casey Division #32. He is district director for Americans for Fair Taxation, and secretary treasurer of Business Network International, which he served as vice president from 2009-10. The councilman and his family moved to Ramsey in 2006. His children attend Hubbard School, where Tyburczy is serving as treasurer of the PTO. Borough residents also endorsed incumbent Republican Mayor Christopher Botta with 3,416 votes, incumbent GOP Councilwoman Vanessa Jachzel with 3,200 votes, and newcomer Harry Weber with 3,181 votes. Weber replaced Art Nalbandian on the ballot after the former council president withdrew from the race. Botta ran unopposed for the mayor’s post, and Jachzel and Weber ran unopposed for the two three-year terms on the borough council. Botta was elected to his first term in 2006. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and a law degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York City. Botta is a practicing attorney with the law firm of Botta & Associates in Ramsey, and is the municipal prosecutor in Park Ridge and Paramus. He also serves as a youth ice hockey and soccer coach in Ramsey. He is a parishioner and Lector at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church. He serves on the Ramsey Library Board and the Ramsey Planning Board and is chairman of the Ramsey Board of Public Works. Jachzel, who has been elected to her second term, has been a Ramsey resident since 2004. She has practiced law for eight years and is now the owner of a retail computer services business. The councilwoman is a member of the Junior Woman’s Club of Ramsey. Prior to serving on the council, she was a member of the Ramsey Board of Adjustment and the Ramsey Centennial Committee. The councilwoman is chair of the council’s Public and Governmental Relations Committee, and serves as a member of the governing body’s Finance and the Health, Education and Social Services committees. Weber is originally from Piermont, New York, and moved to Ramsey in 1996. He has been active in school activities and with the Knights of Columbus. He is a coach for the Ramsey Baseball and Softball Association and serves as president of his daughter’s league. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Manhattan College and a master’s in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is pursuing a master’s degree in project management. For the last 15 years, he has been managing director of trading services for the New York Stock Exchange. In that capacity, Weber manages the logistics of the stock exchange’s trading floor.
