season. These community leaders and benefactors were able to raise donated money to purchase and install the lights at no cost to Ramsey taxpayers. The group raised almost $100,000, which was matched by a Bergen County Open Space Grant. The purchase price of the lights includes 25 years of cost-free maintenance, including replacement lamps. On behalf of the Ramsey Board of Education, School Board President John Nunziata recently recognized the individuals and groups who made the lighting of the Ramsey High School field a reality. A ceremony was held before a Ramsey varsity football game. “This is a marvelous example of the generosity of Ramsey residents,” Nunziata said. He also highlighted
the cooperation between the board of education and the Ramsey council, which made the lights possible. The school district is grateful for the hard work and generosity of the borough residents who took the initiative to form a committee to install lights at the high school field. As a result of the determination of this group, lights were installed in August and were ready to use for the fall

On November 4, 2010 the Mahwah Mayor and Council will begin the process to consider rezoning the 100+ acre International Crossroads Site. Currently zoned OP-200 “Office Park”, up to 1.8 million square feet of office/hotel/ restaurant is permitted. Ownership is willing to reduce permissible square footage to 300,000 square feet of new office/hotel/recreation and 600,000 square feet of retail. Rezoning would require that not less than 200,000 square feet of total retail space must be developed in a “lifestyle” format.
