Gift of joy
With the Ramsey Public Library renovation project nearing completion, Fieldstone Fine Art has a special gift planned for the library and the community. Gallery owners Mariana Maldonado and Rick and Violet Laurenzo got together in June and agreed that the best way the gallery could show its support of the community was through the gift of art. They commissioned award-winning artist Carolyn Edlund to create an appropriate painting. Edlund said she wanted her work, entitled ‘Share the Joy,’ to reflect real children sharing the joy of reading and used her neighbors’ children as her visual reference. The painting (detail pictured at left) will be displayed at the gallery at 147 East Main Street, Ramsey, until the library is finished.
