The seminars will cover Linkedin, YouTube, and Blogging, Facebook, Twitter, and converting social media leads to sales. The program, sponsored by The Cleaning Authority, will be held on Wednesday, June 2 at 5 p.m. at Courtyard by Marriott, 140 Route 17 South, Mahwah. A business card exchange and networking event will follow at 6:30 pm. Video program addresses ‘new Goliath’ The Value-Packed Parenting family video series by the Grace and Truth Chapel, will conclude June 6 at 2 p.m. with “Standing Up to the New Goliath.” Dr. Kevin Leman, program speaker, has authored more than 30 books and has spoken about family issues for several decades. He is also known to morning television viewers as a contributor to ABC’s “Good Morning America” and CNN’s “American Morning.” Leman combines Bible verses, humor, and practical and specific points that will support children and families in today’s challenges. Foundation holds Golf & Tennis Classic The Mahwah Schools Foundation will hold its Golf and Tennis Classic on Monday, June 14, at the recently renovated Dellwood Country Club, 60 Zukor Road, in New City, New York. This year, the event has been expanded to include tennis and a pool/spa day. Golfing will begin at 10 a.m. with registration, brunch, and practice. Golf shotgun tee-off will be at noon. Tennis check-in and registration will begin at 9 a.m., with play beginning at 10 a.m. The pool party will begin at 11a.m. A ladies only club luncheon will begin at 12:30 p.m., including a buffet lunch, wine, prizes, and a participation gift. SCORE offers business seminar The Mahwah Public Library will offer “Starting Your Own Small Business” with the counselors from SCORE Bergen on Wednesday June 2 at 7 p.m. Learn what is involved in developing a business and marketing plan, and what resources are out there. SCORE Bergen is a resource partner of the Small Business Administration that provides ongoing mentoring and training for prospective and current entrepreneurs. SCORE Bergen has more than 40 business experts who can give real-world advice and know-how in every business area. SCORE offers face-to-face consultation with business professionals and nearly 30 local business workshops each year, plus a small business website that offers a wide range of support and guidance. Music festival begins 12th season Pianist Julian Lampert will open the 12th season of the Mahwah Library’s Summer Music Festival with music by Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and a composition of his own on Tuesday June 15 at 7 p.m. Lampert’s activities as a concert pianist and composer of different genres make him one of the most versatile artists performing today. In 1996, he was honored by the Scriabin Society of Moscow by being selected to inaugurate a festival of Scriabin’s music for the 125th anniversary of the composer’s birth -- performing on Scriabin’s piano. Since 1999, Lampert has been engaged as composer by Ludmila and Oleg Protopopov, two-time Olympic gold medalists in figure skating. They danced to his music during their return to Russia in 2005 for the first time since their defection. Lampert has also been engaged to perform at the Chopin Festival held at the Hall of The Kosciusko Foundation in New York City. He is currently working on an album with New York Jazz Records. In 2009, Lampert collaborated with The Sheba Ensemble, which premiered his latest compositions at The Schimmel Center for Performing Arts at Pace University, and The New York Society for Ethical Culture. Auxiliary plans year-end luncheon The Mahwah Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary will close out the year with a Spring Luncheon and Installation of Officers on June 17 at La Lanterna Restaurant in Ridgewood. Theresa Salameno, membership chairman for the auxiliary’s central board, will be the honored guest. The Mahwah Branch has become vital to the General Auxiliary, which currently has 18 branches and thousands of volunteers. Combining social functions with fundraising events enables Valley Hospital to continue to provide special services to local families. This year the Valley Hospital Auxiliary as announced its new pledge to the Valley Hospital: The Center for Women’s Heart Health. The center’s mission is to educate women about preventing, diagnosing, and treating heart disease and to offer comprehensive heart risk assessment for women. Annual Fishing Contest set The Township of Mahwah will sponsor its 21st Annual Fishing Contest on Saturday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at Silver Creek. Boy Scouts host Pancake Breakfast Mahwah Boy Scout Troop 50’s 13th Annual Pancake Breakfast will be held on Memorial Day, Monday May 31, prior to the town parade. The breakfast will take place on the parade route at the Ramapo Reformed Church, 100 Island Road, from 7 to 11 a.m. The cost is $5 for adults; $3 for children ages five through 12.
