Club installs 2010 officers at annual banquet
by Lou Faiella This year’s officer installation banquet for the Jersey Lakeland Region of the VCCA was held on Feb. 13 at the Brownstone with about 40 members and guests in attendance. The Brownstone provided a delicious buffet selected by Mike Cassiello and his committee members, who choose different items each year. Attendees enjoyed music and dancing all night to celebrate the installation of new club officers and to provide recognition to senior members. After dinner, Chuck Lippmann took center stage to present the 2010 officers: Lou Faiella, director and secretary; Gale Peterson, assistant director; Ron Marciano, treasurer; and Ron Panicucci, editor of the award winning “Bow Tie Bulletin.” Lippmann thanked the officers and the members for their support during his two years as director. Faiella thanked the members for their vote of confidence in selecting him as director, noting that his job is made easier by a club that has been firmly established and well run for many years. In the absence of Ron P., the traditional initiation dance to the song “YMCA” was incorporated later on the dance floor. Later, Faiella awarded VCCA anniversary

pins/certificates to Don Anderson, 45 years; Gale Peterson, 15 years; Ed Boyce, 35 years; Joe Di Grazia, 10 years; John Donovan, 25 years; Dom Speronza, 25 years; and Michael Cassiello, 15 years. Cassiello presented varied door prizes, which he selected and purchased. Cassiello was also responsible for the table and seating coordination, and many other behind the scenes tasks. Sherry Faiella provided her flower arrangements at each table. Flowers were provided by the club, one for each
woman in attendance. Gale and Rosemary Peterson were responsible for the festive decorations and some of the prizes, and Ron Panicucci worked with the Brownstone on reservations, menu selection, and other follow-up. The DJ played his music providing a little “twist” this year – with music from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and ‘00s, adding to the evening’s festivities and filling the dance floor to capacity. The DJ also provided some trivia questions to assist in the award of additional door prizes.
