Page 8 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • May 12, 2010 Student scholarship offered Graduating seniors who reside in Upper Saddle River, Saddle River, Allendale, HoHo-Kus, Mahwah, or Waldwick are invited to apply for a $1,500 scholarship, which will be awarded to a student in good academic standing who has made a difference in his or her community and gone the extra mile to help others. “The Dick Meighan Memorial Run Committee is proud to offer the seventh annual Dick Meighan Extra Mile Scholarship,” said Elizabeth O’Sullivan, who runs the scholarship program with fellow Upper Saddle River resident Sean Bookstaver. “As in past years, if funds permit, we will most likely make additional grants to two other deserving applicants. In these challenging economic times, every bit helps toward a college education.” A committee will select the best qualified applicant based upon a written application, scholastic academic record, and participation in community and/or school activities. Applications and additional information are available at www.dickmeighan5krun.org. Applications and related materials are due May 15. The scholarship will be awarded in June at Upper Saddle River Borough Hall. For details, contact Liz O’Sullivan at (201) 236-9535 or Sean Bookstaver at (201) 236-1829.
