She is survived by her children Sheila Sarao and Richard Rulli, her stepchildren Thomas Bocchino and Edward Bocchino, two grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and her sister Pat Heddy. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas G. Bochino. A private service will follow at a later date. John “Jack” Thomas Elwood Jr. of Oakland, formerly of Waldwick, died May 2. He taught physical education and health in Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood for 34 years where he was a teacher and coach. He was involved in “Ride for Life,” a patient driven organization committed to raising ALS awareness and funds to help support the medical costs for ALS patients. He is survived by his wife Laura, his daughter Tricia, his parents John and Margaret Elwood, and his siblings Kevin, Tim and Mike Elwood, Patricia Elwood, Kathleen Farago, and Meg Wanamaker. Shirley Etkin of Ridgewood died May 4. She was 93. She was a volunteer at the Ridgewood Library and the Ridgewood Red Cross. Fischl of Lower Macungie Township, Pennsylvania, died May 2. She was 87. She had owned and operated Fischls Bakery in Union City and Ridgewood. She is survived by her children Dorothy (Frank) Vanderbeck of Colorado, and Joseph Frank of Arizona, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, and her brother John Ward. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, and her sisters Terry W. Sellarole and Kathy W. Massmann.
