Pajama and Book Drive underway The Junior Woman’s Club of Ramsey is collecting new books and pajamas for children in the New Jersey foster care system. The effort will continue through April 18. Donated items will be given to Foster and Adoptive Family Services to distribute to children throughout the state. FAFS is designed to promote literacy for children in foster care by providing gift bags that contain pajamas, slippers, and new books for bedtime reading. Items must be new and appropriate for any age group from infant to teens. A collection bin for donations will be available at the Ramsey Library at 171 Lake Street.
Cafaro to discuss special needs Joseph Cafaro of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Regional Center for College Students with Learning Disabilities will offer a discussion on preparing a child with special needs for college on Monday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 55 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. Support Group Meeting & Mass set A special Mass followed by a support group meeting for anyone affected by the disease of alcoholism will be celebrated at Saint Paul’s R.C. Church, 200 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey at noon on Saturday, March 20. Anyone who is concerned about his or her own drinking or the drinking habits of a loved one is invited to attend. Lenten Spaghetti Dinner set A Lenten Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Friday, March 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adorno Fathers Center, 575 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey. On the menu will be clam and marinara sauces, salad, garlic bread, and dessert. Music will be provided by the priests and brothers of the Adorno Fathers. Soccer registration open Registration for the Ramsey Soccer Association’s fall recreation soccer season, including the Kinderkickers and Challenger programs, has begun. The McLaughlin Irish Step Dancers will be the first to entertain and will be followed by the Connolly Brothers, renowned for their fine musical repertoire. Corned beef
