Ramsey March 10, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 9 Rams hockey team going to state games The Ramsey High School Rams hockey team has won its second straight Northern Bergen Interscholastic League Division 1 championship. The team defeated Glen Rock 3-0 to earn the win, with Brandon Hasslinger, Ricky Gnassi, and Frank Libretti scoring the goals for their team. Rams goaltender Matthew Braun, now a senior, made 21 saves, continuing his stellar career with the team. This year, he has helped his team achieve a dozen shutouts. As a junior, Braun was named first team All-State for public and non-public schools. The Rams win against Glen Rock will again send the team to the state championships. In 2009, Ramsey earned the Public B State Championship title. During the current season, the Rams posted a record of 18-4-2. The team is coached by Bob Toy and plays at the Ice House in Wayne. Dater School recently joined in the Read Across America Celebration. Several local leaders participated to make the day extra special.
