Winter family featured in exhibit The Mahwah Museum at 201 Franklin Turnpike is hosting an exhibit, “Winters for All Seasons,” now through May 31. The exhibit chronicles the legacy of the Winter family. From the 1790s to 1961, the Winter family influenced the growth of downtown Mahwah. Family members were business people, civic leaders, church elders, and innovators. This diorama created by Carol W. Greene is based on her new book, “The Ramapough Chronicles,” which will soon be available for purchase at the museum. The church is barrier-free. ‘Crime of the Century’ explored Thomas Ainsworth will present “The Lindbergh Kidnapping: The Real Story” at the Mahwah Library at 7 p.m. on March 3. When the body of the infant son of Charles Lindbergh was discovered in the Sourland Mountains, a national manhunt began. Was this an inside job? How was the perpetrator apprehended? Why did it take so long? What effect did the media blitz have on the trial? Was the evidence manufactured? Did the right man die in the electric chair? Was the lone participant caught the only guilty party? Would modern forensic techniques have made a difference? Ainsworth will explore the many theories and offer facts about the trial that gripped the nation. This military history specialist’s interests include reenacting, theater, and war gaming. Fashion show to aid shelter Local students and their teachers will raise money and awareness for victims of domestic abuse by hosting the Femme Mystique Fashion Show on Sunday, March 7. The event will feature fashions from the 1950s through today, with a focus on the theme of women breaking free. The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah. Admission is $20, and proceeds go toward Shelter Our Sisters. Shelter Our Sisters is a non-profit organization that assists women and children who are victims of domestic violence, including emotional, economic, sexual, and physical abuse.
