Young athletes sought for Olympic Day The Second Annual Mahwah Olympic Day will be held Saturday, June 26 at Mahwah High School at 10 a.m. Boys and girls ages eight through 12 are invited to participate. Participants can test their skills at running, soccer and football kicking, javelin and football throwing, and the long jump. Children will be divided into two age groups. An Olympic-style awards ceremony will follow. Pre-registration will be held June 16 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the recreation building at Commodore Perry Field. Registration may also be completed on the day of the event. Proof of residency is required. All participants should arrive by 9:30 a.m. and must bring proof of residency. Mahwah Minutes ‘Sound doctrine’ discussion set The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Mahwah will explore themes in the music of artists such as Carlos Santana and the Grateful Dead at “Sound Doctrine” on June 24.
