June 16, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 29 �������������������������� Wyckoff’s 28th Annual Fishing Derby sponsored by the Wyckoff Township Committee and the Wyckoff Environmental Commission reeled in over 150 young anglers for the catch/release event held on the first Saturday in June. Children, divided in to three age groups, cast their lines for the largest fish in the recently stocked Zabriskie Pond Park. The winners for the age 11 and up group were Zach Smith, first prize; Caleb Becker, second prize; and Spencer Varcas, third prize. In the seven to 10 year old group Julia Voglino took first prize; Andrew Gamper, second prize; and Anthony Giamanco, third prize. In the youngest group, ages six and under, James Gamper won first prize; Samantha Judd, second prize; and Charlotte Farcy, third prize. Participants who caught the largest fish received a rod and reel set, a fishing vest, or a tackle box. Ramsey Outdoor Store in Ramsey donated bait and helped supply the prizes for the winners in each age category. Mayor Rudy Boonstra, Deputy Mayor Kevin J. Rooney, and Wyckoff Township Committeemen David N. Connolly, Christopher P. DePhillips, and Brian D. Scanlan were on hand to register participants and measure the fish.
