‘Images of Africa’ on exhibit Waldwick High School teacher Ted Opderbeck’s photographs will be on display at the Waldwick Library through June 30. Highlighting the exhibit are images Opderbeck captured on a trip to Tanzania, Africa during the summer of 2009 when he and members of his church delivered antimalaria bed nets to residents of a small, rural village called Olpiro. Most of the photographs are portraits of the residents of that village -- members of the Datooga tribe. Other photographs in the exhibit include local scenes ranging from the New Jersey highlands region, the Jersey Shore, and the Great Falls of Paterson. In addition to his job teaching social studies, Opderbeck serves as advisor to the Waldwick High School Photography Club.
