West Bergen is committed to meeting the psychological needs of its clients with sensitivity and responsive, innovative services at the highest possible standard. The agency’s goal is to strive to improve the quality of life in the communities it serves – one life at a time. The agency’s staff of 203 includes 116 professionals under the medical supervision of five psychiatrists. Together, they provide quality, professional services for more than 3,000 individuals each year. West Bergen maintains a tradition of excellence and a commitment to providing service on a sliding scale to those who qualify. In 1990, West Bergen addressed a growing need for counseling and psychiatric services for young people by establishing the Center for Children and Youth – a Center of Excellence delivering comprehensive, affordable mental health services. The children’s center gives parents options and resources when they are needed most. West Bergen believes that a child’s family is that youngster’s most important resource and that the agency’s work must strengthen the entire family.
