Page 8 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • June 2, 2010 An all-American event Students from Ramsey’s Eric Smith Middle School’s Jazz Band recently performed ‘Jazz: As American as Apple Pie’ at the Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Center in Midland Park. These talented musicians played an array of jazz and fusion numbers to an enthusiastic crowd of senior citizens. Tunes like ‘Take the A Train’ and ‘Oye Como Va’ were some of the selections. The audience thanked the performers with a standing ovation. Audience members and performers all enjoyed apple pie during the event. New antennas (continued from page 7) he said there would be no effect. “Even the youngest among us will be in full protection,” he said. Professional Planner Chris Neville also testified in favor of the Clear Wireless application, saying the site is a perfect location for the antennas because they will not be visible, there will be no burden on municipal services, and there will be minimal traffic impact. He also testified that the antennas pose no substantial detriment to the township’s zoning plan and, on balance, their benefits outweigh any negative aspects. Prior to the vote, zoning board member Wesley Whiteman voiced the concern that if a location on this monopole were granted to Clear Wireless and they did not serve many customers, a future applicant that may serve many more customers may not be able to co-locate on the monopole and might have to find or build another monopole. Board member William Dator pointed out that the board cannot run someone’s business, but only evaluate an application that comes before it. Frank Ferraro, the attorney for Clear Wireless, assured the board that his client is located in 37 major markets and is a major wireless carrier. All six members of the board present at the meeting then voted to approve the application.
