June 2, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 13 Last week, Borough of Ramsey officials and members of the Lieutenant Frederick W. Schierloh Jr. Post 682 held a ribbon cutting to re-open the redesigned Veterans Park. VFW Chaplain Vladimir Scarlap gave the invocation. Approximately 100 residents were on hand as several speakers thanked individuals and civic groups for their efforts on the park project. Ramsey Council President Andrew Siemsen served as master of ceremonies and introduced members of the governing body and Ramsey department heads. He singled out the Ramsey Woman’s Club and Junior Woman’s Club, both of which made financial contributions; and the Ramsey Knights of Columbus, which donated the Freedom Fountain, which is the centerpiece of the Main Street landmark. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, who participated in the program, included Commander Anthony Bailey, Quartermaster Robert Brown, and Adjutant Joseph Barnes, who described former Commander Guy Green’s vision for a new facility. “He conceptualized the plans and we oversaw the project,” Barnes stated. “You might say that we dotted the I’s and crossed the T’s.” Ramsey dedicates its redesigned Veterans Park Ramsey officials, veterans and guests came out to dedicate the redesigned Veterans Park.
