Students support ‘Relay’
The Eric Smith Middle School in Ramsey recently participated in the Ramsey High School Relay for Life, an all-night fundraising walk that supports the American Cancer Society. Although this was the third time the event has been held at the high school, it was the first time Smith School students put together a team and used their Charity Challenge Field Day, and other donations, to help raise funds. The students are pictured with Smith School Principal Dr. Richard Wiener and Physical Education Teacher Carol Carlson (right) presenting a $2,112 check to RHS Principal Richard Lio and Student Coordinator Julia DiPiazza (left). The community-wide effort grossed $180,705, making the three year gross donation to the American Cancer Society $472,000.
