Obituaries
Carmen Carrabba of Mahwah died July 20. He was 87. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Before retiring, he was a Paterson police sergeant for 25 years. After retiring, he was employed as a security guard for Jaguar of Mahwah for 12 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Gerard’s Church in Paterson. He was a member of the Italian Circle and of the Italian Heritage Club in Paterson and a member of the Elks 2111 in Totowa. He is survived by his wife Rose (nee Catanzaro), his daughter Josephine Heberling, two grandchildren, and his siblings Thomas Carrabba, Theresa Scine, and Emma Martin. Arrangements were made by Santangelo Funeral Home in Woodland Park. Mary M. Doyle, nee Kandrack, of Mahwah died July 19. She was 80. Before retiring in 1995, she was employed in the Mahwah Public School System for 26 years. She is survived by her husband James Doyle, her children Patricia Vier, and Brian Doyle, and eight grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. Memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception RC Church, 900 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, NJ 07430. Edmund Paul Feger of Waldwick died July 14. He was 81. He was a U.S. Army Corps of Engineer veteran. He was a third generation master cake baker or “konditor.” At age 14, he joined the family business, a bakery owned by his father in Germany. He was a Waldwick crossing guard. He taught adult students at the Rutherford, Clifton, and Midland Park-Waldwick continuing education programs. He was a member of chess clubs in Glen Rock, Dumont, and Montvale. He is survived by his wife Jeannette, his children Edmund and Richard, two grandchildren, and his sister Martha Doerseln of Jupiter, Florida. He was predeceased by his siblings Edith, Albert and Erwin, all of Germany. Arrangements were made by Van EmburghSneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. He was employed as a supervisor for Malibu Lumber in Malibu, California and in inventory control for the Rag Shop in Paterson. He was a graduate of Glen Rock High School. He is survived by his brothers Eric, Jeff, George, and Thomas Johnson, his sister-in-law Lee, and niece Alexandria. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Claire King of Wyckoff, formerly of Mahwah, died July 16. She was 90. She was a member of Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff and a volunteer at the Corner Closet in Hawthorne. She is survived by her children John E. King of Wyckoff, Steven E. King of Butler, Roger King of Prospect Park, and Nancy Berkovitz of Abington, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her brother Samuel Greydanus of Saugatuck, Michigan. She was predeceased by her husband John King, and her siblings Francis Greydanus, Pearl Steiginga, and John and Neil Greydanus. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Samuel John Paulicelli Sr. of Mahwah died July 19. He was 77. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife Marie Paulicelli (nee Troiano), his children Samuel John Paulicelli Jr. of Flemington, Michael Paulicelli of Oakland, Maryann Cioffari of Midland Park, and Suzanne Morra of Mahwah, 11 grandchildren, and his brothers Frances DeVivo of Central Islip, New York, and Rudy Paulicelli of Brooklyn, New York. He was predeceased by his brother Carmelo Paulicelli. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. She was 98. She is survived by her children Janice Jones of Venice, Florida, and Bruce of Mahwah, three grandchildren, five grandchildren, and her sister Janice Read of Wyckoff. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Schmidlin, and her sister Ester Cornell. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey.
