Homeowners in Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Midland Park, and Wyckoff may now water their lawns by sprinkler from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on odd-numbered days if their street address is an odd number or on even-numbered days if their street address is an even number. Automatic lawn sprinklers may be programmed to water between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. when minimized by the darkness and relatively cool temperatures. Support group for men to meet LifeLines, a supportive and informative resource for prostate cancer patients and their partners in Northern Bergen County, will meet Tuesday, July 27 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. The group was formed by prostate cancer patients to share information about available treatment and services. Chamber offers business counseling The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Bergen Chapter of SCORE, counselors to America’s small business, have teamed up to offer one-on-one business counseling services for entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small business owners. Chamber members will receive free, realworld advice from more than 40 experienced, successful volunteer business coaches to help launch and grow their businesses. Confidential 60- to 90-minute counseling sessions will be held at the Mahwah Chamber’s office, 65 Ramapo Valley Road, Suite 211, in Mahwah on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon, beginning Aug. 6. The first session will include an initial assessment of the business owner’s needs. Mem- bers may book an appointment with a SCORE counselor by calling the Chamber office at (201) 529-5566. Komen for the Cure® North Jersey has awarded CancerCare of New Jersey a grant to provide direct financial assistance to New Jersey women with breast cancer to address unmet needs, including transportation to and from treatment, home care, child care, pain medication, chemo/radiation therapy, and lymphedema supplies. This program is available to women in the following counties: Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Morris, Hudson, Union, Sussex, Somerset, and Warren. CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization that provides professional support services to anyone affected by cancer, including those with cancer and their family members and care givers. CancerCare programs, which include counseling, education, financial assistance, and practical help, are provided by trained oncology social workers and are completely free of charge. Founded in 1944, CancerCare now provides individual help to more than 97,000 people and received nearly 2.1 million online visits last year to its websites, www.cancercare.org and www.lungcancer.org.
