Honorees include John Acovino, George Halpin, Nick Bernice, Paul Hennion, Rob Halpin, Bob Halpin, Bruce Greenwood, Ernie Larrat, Sal Miele, Anthony Sanchez, Tom McCabe, Emily McCabe, Greg Ameres, Steve Adams, Mike Adams, Andrew Ragone, Peter VanDenHouten, Herbert VanDenHouten, Pat Sawyer, Lou Janicek, Justin Mattes, and Paul Beshlian. “Between the tents and antennas on the front lawn of the Ramsey Municipal Building and the emergency vehicles and antennas at the cul-de-sac in Campgaw County Park, Ramsey OEM made quite an impression,” Adams said. “A special thanks to (Ramsey) Council President Andrew Siemsen and Jonathan Siemsen, and Councilwoman Vanessa Jachzel and Marc Jachzel for officiating at both colorful open ceremonies. Thank you to Mayor Chris Botta for giving Ramsey OEM the borough hall for the weekend and issuing a resolution.” Adams thanked George Sabbi and Joyce Birmingham for predicting excellent weather for the event, and the Metroplex Amateur Radio Club and 10-70 Repeater Association for staffing both sites for 28 hours. The ARRL Field Day Weekend is an annual event sponsored by the American Radio Relay League, the Association of Amateur Radio. The event involves all American radio operators in the United States. The purpose of the exercise is to test the emergency capabilities of ham radio operators during a natural or manmade disaster.
