dedicated individuals to aid those in need. In 1958, Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization with over 1.35 million members in 45,000 clubs, chartered the local organization. In 52 years, the local club has raised and donated more than $1,760,000 to people in need in the communities its members serve. Donation recipients include charities helping the blind and visually impaired, other healthrelated charities, local schools, youth groups, and community volunteer organizations. The club recently concluded a most successful fundraising year including the annual Lions Carnival, car giveaway, and Thanksgiving Fall Harvest Sale. Those activities netted approximately $70,000 to be donated during the coming year.
