He was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and a member of the Men’s Club. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Ramsey, where he was a fourth degree knight. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, Ancient Order of Hibernians, VFW Post 7124, the Mahwah Elks Club 1942, and Mahwah Fire Department Company #2. He was a volunteer with the American Red Cross. He is survived by his wife Rose (nee Skarzynski), his children George of Brigantine, Gregory, Anthony (Anton), Geoffrey of Mahwah, Eric of Hopatcong, Rose of Fairfield, Connecticut, and Terrence of Meridian, Mississippi, and four grandchildren. Leibfred Sr. of Ridgewood died Feb. 13. He was 62. Before retiring in 1997, he was a food chemist with Nabisco in Fair Lawn and East Hanover. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood. He was a volunteer with the Oakland Recreation Baseball and Softball programs and at Eva’s Kitchen. He is survived by his wife Jill Critchley of Ridgewood, his children Kevin Leibfred Jr. of Paterson, Michael Leibfred of Oakland, Jason Leibfred of Massachusetts, Matthew Leibfred of Ridgewood, stepchildren David and Joel Schwartz of Ridgewood, and three grandchildren. Before retiring in 2006, he was vice president of Risk Management with RICOH Corporation in Fairfield. He was an adjunct professor at Caldwell College and on its Business Advisory Council. He was a member of the U.S. Reserve and a former member of the Franklin Lakes Recreation. He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes. He is survived by his wife Maryann Miko (nee Shear) of Franklin Lakes, his children Christopher Jay Miko of Upper Saddle River, Laurena Mary Efrusy of Ringwood, and four grandchildren. Obituaries Warren J. Chiodo of Bluffton, South Carolina, formerly of Midland Park, died Feb. 15. He was 58. Before retiring, he was a lieutenant from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. He then became the owner and operator of Associates Security at the Yeshiva of North Jersey. He was a volunteer with the March of Dimes, youth sports leagues in Midland Park, the Bergen Catholic High School Football Program, Marine Toys for Tots, and Heroes on Horseback in South Carolina. He was a parishioner at Saint Anthony’s Church. He had been a member of the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad, and the Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps. He is survived by his wife Linda, and his son Warren A. Chiodo. Fleming of Ramsey died Feb. 13. He was 60. He was a U.S. Vietnam War veteran. Before retiring, he was employed with the Ramsey Road Department. He is survived by his cousins Shirley Magnuson, Patricia Hartig, Elsie Gannon, Ruth DeLeon, Barbara Chatier, and Clarence Gannon, and his niece Mary Gannon. Leibfred Sr. Joseph Monti of Lavallette, formerly of Union City and Ridgewood, died Feb. 16. He was a retired educator, having taught history in Toms River High School East and served as history department supervisor at Hasbrouck Heights High School. He was the recipient of many awards including the Daughters of the American Revolution’s Outstanding Teacher of American History in New Jersey, The Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge’s Honor Certificate for Outstanding Contributions to Education, The American Ex-Prisoners of War Association’s Certificate of Appreciation, and a New Jersey Legislature resolution for his efforts in teaching about the Armenian genocide. He received the Outstanding Citizenship Award by the Sons of the American Revolution. He was included four times in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers,” and was honored by the Korean War Veterans of Ocean County with a certificate of appreciation for having the war remembered. He was named Teacher of the Year by the Toms River and Ocean County VFW, and was the New Jersey Marine Corps League’s Man of the Year. He received the Patriotism and Distinguished Service Awards and the Distinguished Citizen Medal from the Marine Corps League. He received the Chapel of Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award and Bronze Medallion Award from the Vietnam Veterans of America. He is survived by his sister Rosanne Monti Pfeiffer, and one niece. He was 90. Before retiring in 1978, he was executive vice president and director of American Cyanamid after 34 years of service. He received the 1968 Honor Award of the Commercial Chemical Development Association. He served as Chairman of the Board at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, and as vice chairman of the New Jersey Health Care Administration Board. He was a recipient of the 1989 West Bergen Mental Health and the 1992 New Jersey Hospital Association distinguished service awards. He is survived by his wife Eula, his children Nancy Kasselmann of Roswell, Georgia, Suzanne Brakebill of Memphis, Tennessee, Robert of Dayton, Ohio, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria and his son Bradford. Madeline Turrin, nee Miceli, of Upper Saddle River died Feb. 17. She was 85. She was a member of the Saddle River Woman’s Club and the Senior Center of Midland Park. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. She is survived by her children Frances Tepper of Upper Saddle River, and Andrew Turrin, two grandchildren, and her companion Patrick O’Leary. She was predeceased by her husband Oswald Turrin.
