Preschoolers invited to program at Ramsey High
Ramsey preschool age children are invited to participate in a preschool program that is supervised by Ramsey High School students and the home economics teaching staff. Registration forms for the October 2010 preschool class will be available at the high school’s general office on Thursday, March 4 beginning no earlier than 9 a.m. The class for preschoolers meets three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, for approximately two-and-ahalf hours beginning at 9 a.m. In order to be eligible for this program, a preschooler should be a Ramsey resident who must be four years of age by Oct. 1, 2010. A gender balance (50 percent male, 50 percent female) is preferred, and will affect the selection order. Preschool students will be selected by lottery if applications exceed the program capacity. The lottery process will be by order of postmark received no earlier than March 4, 2010. A $65 fee will be charged per preschool child for the school year.

Borough of Ramsey Police Department Report
At 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 5, an Interstate Shopping Center business reported a theft. Detective Richard Falotico conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of two individuals from Port Chester, New York. Detective Brian Huth arrested a 43-yearold man and a 57-year-old man in Paramus Municipal Court after they appeared for another matter. On Jan. 18 at 10:18 p.m., Patrolman Craig Weber was dispatched to Smith School after a resident reported hearing all terrain vehicles being operated on the school field. Upon arrival, two Ramsey men, ages 20 and 18, were arrested for trespassing on school grounds. On Jan. 20 at 1:06 a.m., Patrolman Craig Weber observed a vehicle conduct an illegal U-turn on Franklin Turnpike. A motor vehicle stop was conducted during which the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected from the driver. At the conclusion of field sobriety tests, a 24-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
