Before retiring in 2007, he had been employed by Shotmeyer Oil Company, where he had worked since 1960. He was past exalted ruler of the Paramus Elks Lodge #2001, and served on various committees of the Valley Hospital. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law of Ramsey, and his brother-in-law of Clifton. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Doris M. O’Keefe, nee Iacona, of Ridgewood died Dec. 7. She was 78. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Rosary Altar Society. She is survived by her husband John J. Jr., her children John J. III, Jean A. Wright, Ellen M. Smith, Michael F. O’Keefe, and five grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. She was 71. She is survived by her husband Michael, her children Michael, Mark, and Luke, five grandchildren, and her sisters Lorraine and Myron T. Holman Gerri. Claire D. Podgurski of Powhatan, Virginia, formerly of Ridgewood, died Nov. 11. She was 83. She was a member of the USO during WWII. She was a member of the PTO, Woman’s Club, Catholic Daughters of America, and the YWCA in Ridgewood. She was active in local politics, modeled for department stores, coached junior high cheerleading, and formed the girls’ softball program in Ridgewood with her husband. She is survived by her children Chuck of Glen Allen, Virginia, Gayle of Ashland, Virginia, three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie and her daughter Carol Anne. Arrangements were made by Philips Memorial Home in Massena, New York. Agnes Margaret Quartarone of Mahwah, formerly of Wesley Hills, New York, died Dec. 4. She was 82. Before retiring in 2007, she was an administrator for the Housing Authority Section 8 for the Township of Ramapo Housing Development in Suffern, New York. She is survived by her husband Anthony, her children John A. Quartarone of Mahwah, Doreen Hotchkiss of Underwood, Washington, and Lisa Costantino of Mahwah, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
