Ramsey August 25, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 3 Tyburczy named to council After interviewing the three candidates recommended by the Republican County Committee, the Ramsey Council unanimously selected Kenneth P. Tyburczy as the newest member of the borough’s governing body. He will succeed Andrew Siemsen, who stepped down earlier this month. “We are excited to have Ken’s experience and background on the council, and will enjoy working with him for the betterment of our community,” Ramsey Mayor Christopher Botta said of Tyburczy’s appointment. The new councilman is a certified project management and information technology professional. He owns and operates SuperCoups of Hudson County North, a cooperative direct mail advertising concern. Before going into business for himself, he worked as a consultant. He was previously an accountant and auditor for KPMG, and worked in IT for almost 10 years in various administration and management roles. Tyburczy received a master’s degree in information systems from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and marketing with a minor in economics from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, where he was an honors graduate. He also received his diploma with honors in computer technical support from The Chubb Institute in Parsippany. An active member of his community, Tyburczy is involved with the Knights of Columbus, Rev. Patrick Pindar Council #3962, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Rev. Solanus Casey Division #32. He is district director for Americans for Fair Taxation, and secretary treasurer of Business Network International, which he served as vice president from 2009-10. The councilman and his family moved to Ramsey in November 2006. He and his wife, Eileen, will celebrate their ninth anniversary in October. Their two children, Kenny, 5, and Helene, 6, attend Hubbard School, where Tyburczy will serve as treasurer of the PTO for the upcoming school year. After his appointment to the council last Wednesday, Tyburczy immediately began meeting with borough officials to familiarize himself with local operations. “I am really looking forward to serving the residents of Ramsey,” he told Villadom TIMES last week. When a council member resigns or retires before the end of his or her term, the local county committee that represents the out-going council member’s political party is charged with providing the council with the names of three prospective candidates within 15 days. The council then selects its new member from among those candidates. Tyburczy will serve until November, at which time he will run for election to Siemsen’s one-year unexpired term. At the time Siemsen resigned, he was president of the Ramsey Borough Council and had served on the governing body since 2006. He said he was stepping down to spend more time with his family.
