Don Bosco Prep Hockey recently announced that Connor Leen, Class of 2010, has committed to the University of Maine. Leen recorded one of the best individual seasons in Ironmen history this past year, collecting 38 goals and 29 assists for 67 points in just 21 games. Leen captained the Ironmen to a No. 1 ranking in Bergen County Ice Hockey Poll and a No. 13 overall state ranking. “My years at Don Bosco Prep were great and I can’t thank the guys I played with and the Bosco coaches enough for the past four years,” Leen said. “After visiting Orono, I knew that it was the right place for me.” Leen had been recruited by 14 other division one programs. “I loved the campus; the rink was great, but, most importantly, I really liked the coaching staff. I am really excited to become a Black Bear,” he added. The University of Maine has made 17 NCAA Tournament appearances, and has played in 11 Frozen Fours and won two national championships. Leen is a resident of Chester, New York.
