This romantic comedy will be on stage at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, 118 Chadwick Road, Teaneck. “Chapter Two” is based on the author’s relationship with then-wife, actress Marsha Mason. It tells the tale of recent widower George Schneider and recent divorcée Jennie Malone, whose immediate attraction to one another has built-in obstacles. He is dealing with memories of the supremely happy marriage he doesn’t want to forget. She has memories of the unhappy marriage she doesn’t want to replicate. Also in the mix are George’s devoted brother, Leo, a press agent who is not overly attentive to his conjugal vows; and Faye Medwick, Jennie’s actress friend who is thinking about straying from her too-predictable marriage. George is played by Tenafly resident Mic McCormick, who has worked in numerous off- and off-off Broadway theaters as actor, director, and stage manager. Favorite roles include Prospero in “The Tempest,” Geoffrey in “The Lion in Winter,” Oedipus in “Oedipus the King,” and Jules in “Sunday in the Park with George.” Jennie is portrayed by Jill Haas of Midland Park, who previously appeared with TNT as Muriel in Neil Simon’s “Plaza Suite.” Other onstage appearances: Lucy in “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and Melissa in “Love Letters.” Leo is Ho-Ho-Kus resident Nick Pascarella in his TNT ‘Chapter Two’ comes to local stage debut. Pascarella recently appeared with Bergen County Players in “Plaza Suite” and has performed as a musician in the bands Protégé and Jumpstreet. Faye is New Milford’s Barbara Liebgott. Among Liebgott’s previous TNT appearances are: “Love Letters,” Norma in “Plaza Suite,” and Chick in “Crimes of the Heart.” Elsewhere she has been Maggie in “Jake’s Women,” Penny in “You Can’t Take It with You,” and Maria in “Lend Me a Tenor.” Director Gross, a Neil Simon devotee, has appeared with TNT as an actor in Simon’s “Plaza Suite” and “Laughter on the 23rd Floor,” and in a number of other productions. As a director, he recently helmed TNT’s re-creation of the pilot radio episode of “Father Knows Best,” which aired on radio station WFDU-fm (89.1) last December. Diana Weber Gross of Westwood is the assistant director, Patt Tanner of North Haledon is set designer, Jennifer Tardibuono of New Milford is stage manager, and Carol Campione of Teaneck is producer. The battle is on -- both on and off the stage -- as a Machiavellian socialite, Indian rapper, overprotected prodigy, reckless actress, lovelorn businessman, and entrepreneurial yogi try to get the upper hand in this small-time, though extravagant, send-up of “American Idol,” sponsored by a pork baron known as “The Loin King” and presided over by the sly contest promoter Sudarsh Bokade. Extras include writer and critic commentaries with director Manish Acharya, a behind-the-scenes featurette, deleted scenes, short films, music videos, and trailers.
