Park costs
(continued from page 5) A stamped concrete sidewalk would extend along East Ramapo Avenue and the part of Miller Road at the side of the park near the railroad tracks. A grouping of cypress trees and shrubs would be located at the railroad end of the park in the same curved manner as the ones along the Franklin Turnpike side of the park and a barrier-free access ramp would be added at the southwestern end of the park to avoid the stepped up walkways in that area. The four large trees on the north side of the park and the stone wall there would remain as would the two large trees on the East Ramapo Avenue side of the park, the one near the Franklin Turnpike, and two near the center circle. Four trash receptacles would be located in the park: two near Franklin Turnpike and two near the railroad end of the park. Plans also call for concrete stairs to be installed at that end of the park where the curbs would be modified for barrier-free access and a two- to three-foot high retaining wall would be installed there to create a level area at the west end of the park. A concrete stamped barrier-free access ramp would be provided on the East Ramapo Avenue side of the park, and striping for a designated crosswalk from the park to the train station would be provided. All the landscaping on the site would be irrigated, but Kelly said the existing overhead utility wires would not be relocated below ground due to the estimated half-million dollar cost for that part of the project.
