This third-grader from Sicomac Elementary School gets our thanks and appreciation for her recent community service project of collecting art supplies such as crayons, markers, colored pencils, and coloring books. These items are being distributed to Emmanuel Cancer Foundation kids who can really use them. Marjorie was perplexed when her six-year old daughter, Julianna, complained of nausea and dizziness. Julianna’s symptoms, which included a poor appetite, prompted a visit to the doctor. Several trips to the pediatrician left them baffled, until some tests came back and they learned that Julianna had leukemia. Marjorie told us that was the worst day of her life and that she just cried and cried.
