DANIEL WEIXELDORFER for Mahwah Town Council “STOP WASTEFUL SPENDING, KEEP TAXES LOW”
A lifelong “Jersey Boy”, I am 48 years old and married to Kristine. I have two daughters, Lauren, who is 20, and Jennifer, who is 19. Both attend Pace University in Westchester. I have worked as a licensed real estate broker for over 20 years. Currently, I work with RE/MAX Legend on MacArthur Blvd in Mahwah. I am also president of Healthcore Media, a company headquartered in Mahwah that owns over 125 health & wellness websites. I am Treasurer of the Ramapo Ridge II Condominium Board. I am the past president of the PCBR. I am a past director of NJAR. I believe that, to thrive, a town needs an exceptional school system, low taxes, the right mix of small and large businesses, a good public safety record, and properly maintained roads, parks, and fields. If that town can also offer activities for children and seniors, it can help relieve the burdens on those of us juggling the demands of caring for both growing children and aging parents. When I am elected to the town council, I will cast my vote to ensure that Mahwah becomes such a thriving town. I believe that through prioritization and careful budgeting, we can keep taxes low, while still ensuring Mahwah becomes the town we all want it to be. These beliefs are reflected in my campaign slogan: “Stop Wasteful Spending, Keep Taxes Low”. My opponents tout their Council “EXPERIENCE”. But my experience -- and yours too -- is a 50% tax increase in just 6 years! Is that the “EXPERIENCE” Mahwah wants or needs for another 4 years? Times are tough for us all. Can any of us afford another 50% tax increase? When I am elected, I will vote against the sort of wasteful spending that leads to such increases. ISSUES • How the 2010 property revaluation will impact our real estate taxes • The safety concerns of parents who park along Ridge Rd. while waiting to pick up their children from school • The noise, air pollution & safety hazard caused by the numerous trucks that illegally park & idle overnight on the shoulder of Rt. 287 North. te • The level of lead in our drinking water Vo
