In early America, this was a time to be joyful. On Oct. 4, 21st century Americans are invited to take time to celebrate the “bounty of the harvest” from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Hopper-Goetschius House Museum’s Annual Harvest Festival. This event will feature a variety of activities for children and adults. There will be a Petting Zoo with goats, lambs, donkeys, ducks, chickens, and rabbits; pony rides; and demonstrations of colonial crafts such as spinning, chair caning, wood carving, quilting, bobbin lace making, and rug braiding.
