Put the extra coins you have lying around the house to great use by donating them to “Change for the Fell House,” the Concerned Citizens of Allendale’s new account at TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®. Bring the coins to a local TD Bank in Allendale, Mahwah, Ridgewood, or Wyckoff, and tell the teller you want the money to go to the Concerned Citizens of Allendale, the non-profit group dedicated to preserving the historical house. The money will be deposited into the account of this 501(c)(3) charity. The Concerned Citizens of Allendale saved the Fell House from the wrecker’s ball and is now turning the home and 2.8-acre property into a community resource. The effort takes sweat, dedication, and the community’s help. “We are thrilled that TD Bank is helping us with this innovative program,” said Holly Norton, co-chair of the Fundraising Committee. “We could use large donations, too, but this has been a grassroots effort from day one -and every penny counts.” The Fell House belonged to Revolutionary War hero John Fell, who led the American resistance efforts against

The Allendale Chamber of Commerce will hold its 18th Annual Allendale Festival Day on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A car show has been added to the festival, with antique and classic cars from throughout the area invited to participate and vie for best-in-show prizes. The popular festival features music, entertainment and food throughout the day, a petting zoo, games, contests and children’s rides. A pet parade and give-aways are also scheduled.
