Bowling league seeks members The Wednesday morning ladies bowling league, Ladies of the Presentation, is seeking bowlers for its fall program. The league bowls on Wednesday mornings at 9:35 a.m. at the Montvale Lanes, 14 West Grand Avenue, Montvale. The program runs for 33 weeks during the school year and is open to everyone. The cost is $15 per week, and includes a year-end luncheon and prize. Vendors wanted The Saddle River Valley Junior Woman’s Club is looking for local merchants and vendors to take part in a “Holiday Boutique at Saddle River.” The shopping event will be held at the Bishop House in Saddle River on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 20 and 21. Proceeds from this event will benefit both the Bishop House and West Bergen Mental Healthcare. Food wristbands may be purchased in advance at the Upper Saddle River Library or at Upper Saddle River Borough Hall for $30 for a family up to six, $10 for an individual, and are free for seniors (age 62 and up) and children under six years of age. Borough woman to exhibit work Nora Lynn Vinn of Saddle River recently had her artwork accepted into the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club’s 114th Annual Open Exhibition at the National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, in New York City. This exhibition of works in a variety of media by women artists from all over the United States was by juried admission and was not limited to members only. The exhibition will be open to the public from Oct. 5 through 29, weekdays from noon to 6 p.m. and weekends from 1 to 6 p.m. The Sculpture Gallery is open seven days a week, but visitors are urged to call the National Arts Club at (212) 475-3424 before visiting as the galleries do close for official functions. A Benefit Reception will be held Oct. 15 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the National Arts Club. A minimum $25 donation benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Travel and Research Fund. She was the only woman among the 106 founders of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The club’s home is Grace Church on Broadway in New York City. The club’s original function was to provide aid and counsel to women art students who found life in New York a struggle. In the 1950s, the club’s focus shifted to serving women artists of professional standing. Today, the board meets monthly at the Grace Church Parish House. It organizes exhibitions and plans for lectures and other activities where the membership can meet and share ideas.
