Letters to the Editor
(continued from page 17) Dear Editor: Waldwick is extremely fortunate to have both Don Sciolaro and Tom Giordano running for reelection to the Waldwick Council. Both Tom and Don bring their extensive private sector business experience to the council. Their experience has proven invaluable when budgeting and negotiating on behalf of the municipality. As the chairperson of public safety, Don works diligently with the police and fire departments ensuring that the safety of Waldwick citizens is not compromised or reduced. With Don as committee chair, these departments have met, and continue to meet, the needs of our residents. As chairman of the Environmental Service Committee, Tom has been vigilant in his support of Waldwick residents and their dealings with the Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority plant. In my dealings with Tom and Don, it is clear they wish to preserve the small town quality of life in Waldwick. Additionally, in these tough economic times, these are the people that need to be part of the mayor and council team, helping make the hard but effective business decisions for our town. Re-elect Don Sciolaro and Tom Giordano to the Waldwick Council. Frank Palladino, Councilman Dear Editor: I am writing to endorse Patrick Hunter and Frank Jaegge for the Waldwick Council. With an economy that is struggling to revive itself and property taxes rising every year,

Democrats will be ‘fresh voice’
Waldwick residents are trying their best to make do, and the current council seems to think that imposing new taxes is the way to go on solving its problems. In the prior election, I was led to believe many things by the candidates. Based on that, I put forth what I thought was the best vote. After the election was over, a current member of the council made a statement about the need to raise taxes on a consistent basis. When you run for office, those types of thoughts should be discussed prior to an election -- not afterward. Currently, the council is seeking to impose an additional tax on residents regarding the sump pump dilemma. They are also looking to barge into your home and invade your right to privacy. Patrick and Frank have many great ideas for Waldwick. They bring forth innovative ideas to solve problems, they are committed to the interest of the taxpayers, and they will stand up for the working families of Waldwick. Frank is a lifelong resident of Waldwick and understands the issues. Patrick has decided to make Waldwick his home and raise his family here. Both of these candidates are the best choices on Nov. 2. They will bring change to the current administration, and will be a fresh voice for Waldwick residents, and force open dialogue to solve the current problems that plague Waldwick and not just impose new and additional taxes on the working families. Vote for Patrick Hunter and Frank Jaegge on Nov. 2 for a new beginning. Andrew Frey Waldwick
