I would love to sit down with you and talk Waldwick with you. But after reading your letter and learning about you, I guess I will never see that day. Tom Giordano, Councilman Waldwick Dear Editor: The Waldwick community recently had the privilege of hosting a concert performed by the United States Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants. All who attended the concert appreciated the superior level of musicianship demonstrated by the musicians, and their friendliness toward all involved in the concert. The room rang with beautiful music and a feeling of patriotism. This concert was truly a special event that moved all who heard it. It took many people working together to make this event the wonderful experience it was. I would like to thank everyone in the Waldwick community who worked to present this concert. Thank you to the Waldwick Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this event. The Waldwick police and fire departments, the Community Emergency Response Team, and the ambulance corps deserve many thanks for all of their assistance in making this concert possible. The Waldwick Music Parents Association worked tirelessly to assist with many of the important details; thank you to all of you. Thank you to all of the band, drama, and National Honor Society students who worked as ushers and assisted with other tasks. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the Waldwick Board of Education, school administrators, and the custodial staff for providing the performance site and the staff to prepare the room for the concert. All who were involved with preparations or running the actual event can be proud of the exceptional musical experience they helped give to our community. Lynne Montella, Director Dear Editor: I strongly encourage my fellow citizens to reelect Thomas Giordano and Donald Sciolaro to the Waldwick Council on Nov. 2. In this financially difficult time, it is crucial that we have leaders who are innovative and are willing to make tough decisions to protect our taxpayers. Tom and Don are leaders in sharing services with surrounding communities to provide more efficient services. They have expanded recycling to save dollars. Tom and Don insisted that the council take a big cut to their annual stipends to show solidarity with their neighbors who are having trouble making ends meet. Waldwick maintains excellent credit ratings because of their long-term planning of municipal resources. They have never taken municipal benefits and only serve because of their love for Waldwick and desire to serve their neighbors. I am also very impressed with the way Tom and Don have run their campaign. Unlike others, they have done so with openness, integrity, and class, respecting Waldwick business owners, property owners, and voters alike. On Nov. 2, please join me in voting for Thomas Giordano and Donald Sciolaro to Waldwick Borough Council. They will not let us down.
