Upper Saddle River
Family to be honored for contributions to school
The Salesian Sisters and the Dames of Mary Help of Christians will honor Upper Saddle River’s Susan Greenbaum-Gross and her parents, Jimmy and Ellen Greenbaum, at an Oct. 27 Gala Dinner Dance at the Venetian in Garfield. The event, An Exciting Evening in the Roaring ‘20s, will begin at 6 p.m. The Greenbaum family is being honored for their work with Mary Help of Christians Academy in North Haledon. All proceeds from this gala will benefit the Tuition Aid Fund at Mary Help of Christians Academy, an all-girls’ school serving middle and high school students. Greenbaum Interiors was instrumental in the renovation of the Academy several years ago. Recently, the company’s designers helped prepare and decorate unused dormitory rooms for several young Haitian girls who survived the earthquake and who will now live and study at the academy. Susan Greenbaum explained that she and her family are passionate about social responsibility. “Through financial contributions, in-kind donations and volunteerism, we support initiatives that enable us to make a real difference in our community,” she said. “As a family-owned business, locally owned and operated, we’re dedicated to improving the lives of the people in the neighborhoods where we live and work.” Greenbaum’s has been recognized as a leading family business by the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson for “innovative strategies and business practices that have had a positive impact on the state and local economy, the business community and society in general.” Greenbaum’s has been instrumental in many renovation and expansion projects at Eva’s Village in Paterson and Paterson’s Habitat for Humanity. Susan is a board member of the Special Improvement District of Paterson.
